This little quilt was made for my grandbaby in 2018. I initially cut the flowers out many years ago when her mommy, my daughter, was a young girl with intentions of making it for her. As it does, life gets in the way and I stored them away and never completed the project. That young girl grew up, graduated college, married her high school sweetheart and was now expecting her third child. I wanted to make her a special quilt and the the little flowers had tucked away all those years ago came to mind. I made the little nine patches from a jelly roll and yellow was her favorite color so I backed it in the yellow pin dot. When I took it to the long armer to my surprise I learned that he had been a police/resource officer at my daughters high school and he remembered her. He was so excited to quilt her baby’s quilt that he added several personal quilting touches in the solid white blocks. I couldn’t have been more pleased when I saw it. This quilt has been one of the most special I think I’ll ever make.
